Will hyper v run in a VirtualBox vm guest?
I have this running on a ubuntu 904 x64 system running virtualbox. Installed hyperv standalone vm guest fine. Installed window 2008 vm guest fine but could not enable hyper v. The video show what happened when i tried to connect to the stand alone hyperv vm guest using hyper v manager.
HyperV in VirtualBox does not work from Antone Heyward.

Have you tried xen convertor?
I think you should enable remote management from within Hyper-V server first!
It is option 4)….
Found this one!
DNS does not work some how? (Security?)
Enter Hyper-V-IP-adres and Hyper-V-ServerName in your hosts file.
Add your user account as a workgroup user.
You will have to give a password twice (creating a local user on Hyper-V-Server)
It worked for me using Virtualbox under Windows 7!
Remote HYPER V MANAGER / HYPER V MMC Error ” Cannot connect to the RPC service on computer ‘192.168.1.68’. Make sure your RPC service is running”
Yes i too had the same RPC issue, when both Hyper-v-server and hyper-v manager was on the same domain, there is no issues at all but once the hyper-v server and client brought to the workgroup environment the issue starts, one of the solution is to edit your hosts file which is under C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
add the following entry
eg:
192.168.1.68 HYPER-V-SERVER
This would simply sort the issue.
Good luck

I have Windows 7 64 machine and have installed VirtualBox on it.
I have enabled all the virtualization options in BIOS.
I have created Hyper-V virtual machine and installed Stand-Alone version successfully.
I have installed Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 7.
My Hyper-V guest and Windows 7 host communicate with each other as well,
thus I have successfully created Windows XP virtual machine on Hyper-V
BUT
When I try to start this WinXP virtual machine through Hyper-V Manager I get error:
The virtual machine could not be started because the hypervisor is not running
any ideas, how to fix this problem ?
Thanks in advance, Nrupesh
